Feature Request: Add SSLProtocol to NodeWorx SSL Page + Certificate Import Idea

$

On the /nodeworx/ssl, the addition of the ciphersuite was great, but I think to give even more control being able to adjust the SSLProtocol as well would be useful. Probably makes sense to make those checkboxes, highlight that using anything less than TLSv1 is not secure. Maybe an override notification when checking that.

Another useful feature would be when using signed certificate, having a box for the chain. I realize it's kind of pointless because that can all be put in with the certificate, but I think it would be good for the UI and kind of remind user (like myself, I missed it at first) that they need to add the chain certificate here.

Package Blocking PHP-IMAP

I'm trying to recompile LSWS PHP5.6 with IMAP support but I keep getting configuration error of configure: error: Cannot find imap library (libc-client.a). Please check your c-client installation.
**ERROR** Could not configure PHP build

So I go and install all the packages needed for IMAP and PHP-IMAP but it doesn't work. Then I find out I might just need these uw-imap and uw-imap-devel packages but when I try to install them I get...

--> Running transaction check
---> Package uw-imap.x86_64 0:2007f-4.el7.1 will be installed
--> Processing Dependency: xinetd for package: uw-imap-2007f-4.el7.1.x86_64
--> Running transaction check
---> Package xinetd.x86_64 2:2.3.15-13.el7 will be installed
--> Processing Conflict: courier-imap-2.1.2-134.rhe7x.iworx.x86_64 conflicts u
w-imap
--> Finished Dependency Resolution

So Interworx installed that and needs it. Not sure what to do next.

InterWorx Ideas

Hi guys,

Is the InterWorx Ideas site still maintained?

There are a few items in the list that are actually delivered, but not marked as such. For example Let's Encrypt, 2FA.

There are also quite a few on there that are duplicates or could be merged, or the proposal text tidied up a little.

I do love InterWorx, but it's a bit worrying that things (at least from our perspective) seem to have gone quiet.

Blocking inbound smtp connections for specific domains only

$

My apologies if this is a duplicate post, I searched the fora and didn't find anything similar.

I'm looking to restrict inbound SMTP connections to a specific set of IP addresses, but only for specific domains. Here's the background:

We're using an external spam filtering service for some, but not all domains on our server. Normal mail for those domains follows the MX record and sends the mail to the filtering service, which filters it, and sends legitimate emails to our servers.

Unfortunately, some spammers have discovered that we will accept email for those domains directly as well, and have been flooding inboxes with spam.

I've been able to configure postfix on a dedicated server (without Nodeworx) to accept connections that are either authenticated (e.g. legitimate users trying to send outbound mail) or coming from a specific list of IPs (the filtering service).

What I'm looking to do is the same thing, but on a domain by domain basis. That is, those domains that are using the service should only accept authenticated connections, or connections from the filtering servers, while other domains should continue to work as they currently do.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

It looks like the public_html folder was deleted by mistake and I don't seem to have the permissions to create a new one.

Thanks.

/siteworx/ was not found on this server

Is there a way to get the /siteworx/ and /nodeworx/ to work again? Like if we did the following:

https://cp2.domain.com/siteworx/?domain=test.com it will give us a:

Quote:

Not Found

The requested URL /siteworx/ was not found on this server.
Same would happen to Nodeworx as well - It works fine on one of our other interworx installations but not this one. We have to physically put in the port numbers such as:

https://cp2.domain.com:2443/siteworx/?domain=testing.com for it to load the login page.

Password Reset Email

Hi all,

It seems whoever originally set up one of our Interworx servers may have done a mistake somewhere. The password reset email has the URL spelt slightly incorrect but I can't find anywhere within the control panel this would be managed. Is it located in a file anywhere that I can access via SSH?

Qmail Acceptance of address literals

Hi
I thought I would post over RFC1123 Section 5.2.17, for anyone interested in enabling this RFC
It refers to acceptence of Address Literals, which maybe an old RFC concept, which many may consider not worthy of accepting, for various reason, such as spam, but we have never seen spam been sent this way, so for those interested and wanting to accept address literals, please see below:
SSH into server
edit /var/qmail/control/localiphost
Delete reject and input your IP address(s), you wish to accept address literals on (it may also work if you input accept, which may cover all IP addresses, but I have not tried this, as we like to define the accepyed IP address)
save
edit /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts
add your IP address(s) you added to localiphost
save
restart qmail, service smtp restart
test
I hope that helps a little, and below is a test I run on one of our servers
many thanks
John

PASS
Acceptance of address literals Mailserver accepts mail to address literals. Mailservers are technically required by RFC1123 section 5.2.17 to accept mail to domain literals (i.e. IP addresses instead of domains). This ensures backwards compatibility and can help with delivery in certain non-optimal situations, like a DNS server being down/unresponsive.

Chain Certificate

Hi all,

How do you install the Chain Certificate part of an SSL certificate for the actual control panel URL? Looking at the ssl.conf file it seems it uses the same file as the main SSL cert file (/etc/pki/tls/certs/localhost.crt) so when you add it to that file either manually or via the Nodeworx control panel. Any tests on SSLLabs for example does not seem to pick it up.

So the question is: What is the correct way of installing the chain certificate part?

Second question which is related to HTTPS - I want to force http://domain.com/siteworx/ to redirect to the https:// version - I thought this would be done in the iworx.conf but I don't think the rules I have in place are taking affect or the rules could be wrong.

Cheers,

Question about Interworx replacing CPanel

$

So we are trying to find a control panel that supports server clusters. After reading up on Interworx we think we want to try this solution out but have a few questions that others might be able to answer for us before we purchase.

1) Has anybody here migrated CPanel users to Interworx and how was the process?
2) We have a Load Balancer in AWS... should we use Interworx load balancer or keep current one up...
3) We want to setup Interworx on Two servers clustered together... how does the High Availability of services work?
4) I'm concerned that if the primary Interworx server has a failure the built load balancing features don't roll over (from what I read in the docs) any advice?
5) In terms of file uploads from CMS/Websites... how does Interworx sync these files across the cluster? A user uploads an image via the File Upload panel in Wordpress how does this file get transferred to the other servers and how does the service guarantee that when a failed node comes online that each will sync back up.
6) If we add a 3rd or 4th node are there any challenges to joining them and getting the initial sync process completed
7) Does Interworx use MariaDB Replication for the DB or is it a custom solution handled by the Interworx software?

If you guys have any advice or details please pitch in because we are looking for a new solution!

Thanks :)

Show all certs on a server

$

Hi all,

does anyone know a neat trick how to show all certificates installed on a server? There is nothing for that on Nodeworx, right? This would be a helpful feature for Nodeworx, e.g. similar to all the websites shown under Server - IP Management it would be great if we could see all certificates somewhere.

But until then, does anyone know how to quer this e.g. via CLI?

Cheers,

Michael

SNI issue on shared IP with non-SSL sites

$

I noticed Google crawling a page by the wrong domain name. This is when I realized that if a site is contacted via HTTPS, which doesn't have SSL setup it will default to the first domain alphabetically that has SSL setup.

My idea now is to have a main shared IP for non-SNI sites and then a second shared IP for SNI sites.
Does this make sense as a good solution to my problem?

Thanks for your advice,

Justin

CloudFlare, SPDY protocol

$

So, I've got a customer who's using CloudFlare. He's now having issues because CloudFlare apparently insists on having access to SPDY on the server.

Recommendations and/or best practices? I've tried installing the thing and it seems to be not quite working as intended. After the install, the httpd simply dies with the SPDY module enabled, so I've currently left it disabled for now and came here to ask about resolving this because I'm sure others will eventually google for this issue and come here.

So, that said!

CentOS 7, 5.6 for PHP. Everything else is default as usual for InterWorx. Running v5.1.41 at this time.

Let's Encrypt Questions

$

First of all, I love Let's Encrypt plugin! Do certificates auto-renew? If so, when do they do it?

Is there any way to automatically apply the certificates to the server certificates? I'd like to do this to encrypt mail and also the interworx panel itself.

I think I could run a cron to copy it to the right location, if I knew where that was and then it restart the services.

thanks

Scheduling ./iworx.pex --daily

Hi guys,

./iworx.pex --daily

According to cron, this is set to run at 14:50 every day.

What would be the consequence of moving this to another time of day? Or even the early hours of the morning when the server is less busy?

This thread (http://forums.interworx.com/threads/...the-iworx-cron) suggests it would be fine, but since it's over 10 years old, I'm double-checking the advice is still relevant.
